WHY I DO, WHAT I DO.

Updated: Aug 10, 2023

The most common question that I’m asked is… “Why did you choose Chinese Medicine & Integrative Health?”

Chinese Medicine chose me… I have always wanted to help people, so Integrative Health is perfect because of it’s holistic outlook for improving health outcomes.

MY STORY

I wanted to use a more natural approach to addressing my health issues. I suffered from chronic pain and excruciating migraines. I researched and discovered that Acupuncture was a great fit for me. Over a decade later, my meditation list has not grown and I’m now a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Doctor.

MY PASSIONS

I’m so passionate about this medicine that my Post-Doctorate path has lead me to a Fellowship in Integrative Health & Medicine. I'm currently in the second and final phase for completion my studies. I'm so eager to apply what I have been learning at AIHM to both my clinical world at Ān Medi-Zen and in real life situations.

MY FOCUS

My focus has always been to help and be an health advocate people. I’m continually learning how to effectively support and assist the people in my community, especially those who are disadvantaged and plagued with health disparities.

WHY I DO THE WORK

I love to provide various community outreach and health education programs that will help foster and improve clinician-patient rapport and communication. and want to strengthen our connection in order to build stronger relationships within the community .

INTEGRATIVE HEALTH AND MEDICINE

Integrative health is a holistic approach to health and wellness that considers the whole person, including physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental factors. It combines conventional medicine with complementary and alternative therapies to promote healing and wellness.

SELF-CARE

Self-care is an essential part of integrative health. It involves taking responsibility for one’s own health and well-being by engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental health. This is why I offer multiple services at Ān Medi-Zen.

MY MISSION

I’m changing how people see & use various types of medical approaches together to build hybrid healthcare plans which will better serve and meet the needs of a diverse community.

SERVICES AT ĀN MEDI-ZEN

Some examples of self-care packages  and other services, which I  endorse and offer at Ān Medi-Zen include:  meditation, mindfulness, qigong, yoga, sound therapy, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, tui’na, herbal medicine, TCM foot soaks and reflexology, facial and cosmetic acupuncture, peristeaming (womb healing) and more.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Peace and Harmony,

Dr. Sharon
